Deeply influenced by the golden eras of 1980s and 1990s hip hop, as well as classic soul and R&B, Muddy Jonez spent years perfecting his rhyme style. Alongside longtime friend and DJ, J.H., Muddy co-created the Global Warz Podcast, a project that evolved from their acclaimed Global Warz Mix Series in the 2010s. As the mix series began generating buzz, the duo brainstormed the podcast concept—but ultimately chose to refocus their energy on original music.

That creative shift gave rise to Last City and My Vizion Multimedia—a label and platform built on a foundation of artistic integrity, innovation, and timeless sound. Rejecting trends of fast content and social media gimmicks, Muddy Jonez crafts music the old-school way: with purpose, passion, and polish.

J.H.’s story is marked by music and survival. Born in Washington, D.C., with family roots in Pittsburgh and New York, and time spent between Miami and Baltimore, his youth was defined by a nomadic lifestyle and life-defining lessons. Being around Lorton Prison in the early 1980s gave him a look at life’s harsh realities as a kid, while older family members instilled principles, a code, and a fast-paced hustle with a philosophy for business that would stay with him.

During the late 1980s, as Hip Hop’s golden era began to take shape, J.H. was posted up across the East Coast, navigating a turbulent home life while finding stability in music. Sound became not just an outlet but a calling. Connected with like-minded individuals—among them friends like Muddy Jonez—J.H. made music his true foundation. Family exposure to jazz, soul, and classic rock expanded his perspective, while older DJs introduced him to the mixtape game and nightclubs.

By the 1990s, he was entrenched in mixtape culture, connecting with DJs across multiple cities and building vast collections of sound. As the 2000s shifted the music landscape and the internet changed the rules, J.H. dropped his former DJ name, recognizing how quickly identities could be copied and diluted online.

As one of the only ’90s-era mixtape DJs still active in the mid-2010s, J.H. was still breaking new talent while Global Warz solidified his role as a knowledgeable and dedicated DJ, securing his legacy. Known for instantly recognizing what’s hot, he built an uncompromising legacy, guarding Hip Hop’s integrity with both vision and discipline. He also became a walking encyclopedia of world music, with a near-photographic memory and a deep education in research and world history.
